Hi there,

We are delighted to announce the release of the following features.

📆 In-Line Calendar View

We've brought your calendar view right to your Timesheet for an even smoother experience. Here's what you can do:

  • Easily navigate to the specific day you need to take action on.
  • See the release status of each day where green means fully released, yellow means you still have time to release, and red if you have any rejected entries on that day.
  • Hover over a date to see daily totals, including released, unreleased, billable, and non-billable hours.

Please note: This updates every 15 minutes, so please give it time to update. You can see when it was last updated directly from the calendar.

✏️ Increased Speed of Entry Creation

  1. Easily Understand Your Day: Just click the History icon (or H key) in Timesheet to see what Laurel has captured about your day.
  2. Tailored Activity Viewing: Want to focus on specific activities? No problem! Just click "All Activities" and pick the ones you're interested in, like emails, phone calls, or meetings. It's that simple to customize your view!
  3. Effortless Entry Management: We've made editing entries a breeze. All the actions you need are now in one place - the global header.
  4. Super-Speedy Editing: Want to make changes? One click is all it takes, and your edits are automatically saved. No fuss!
  5. Quick Entry Creation: Whether you're starting fresh or need to add an entry for a specific client, Laurel's got you covered. Use the global header or the 'create entry' button under an Initiative.

🔡 Expand non-required codes

At Laurel, we're all about making your life easier. Now, we've streamlined your entry creation process. Here's the deal:

  • We'll only show you the codes that are required for the Initiative you're working on. No clutter, just what you need.
  • But, we get it - sometimes you need a non-required work code. No worries! Just click "show more codes" and add them as required.

🔢 Non-Billable Totals

You can now see daily non-billable totals on your Timesheet and monthly non-billable totals on your Calendar view.

Keep an eye out for more improvements coming soon. And as always, feedback is always welcomed.

The following improvements are included:

  • Improved Microsoft Outlook Integration: We reduced the amount of resources needed to track your work in Outlook, ensuring no performance impact to Outlook occurs. We also enhanced our Outlook tracking to resolve errors connecting to a user's mailbox and included a "re-try" method when our connection fails due to internal Outlook functions.

New feature

New in Laurel: Open Time

Avery avatar
Shared by Avery • June 16, 2023

Hi there,

Introducing: Open Time 🙌

This feature is designed to highlight those work instances that Laurel might not have picked up, such as tasks that are performed away from your computer.

Setting your Open Time threshold

You can select these thresholds from the filter options in the search bar, available in the Timeline view. If you've chosen an Open Time threshold, a filter badge will appear in the search bar. If you select 'No Open Time', no filter badge will show.

The Open Time threshold is flexible, allowing you to select the duration that suits your working style. The options available are:

  • No Open Time: You won't see any open time slots in your Timeline view.
  • 1 minute (Default): You'll see an open time slot if more than 1 minute pass without an activity. This is the default setting on your first login.
  • 2 minutes: This setting shows an open time slot if more than 2 minutes pass without an activity.
  • 6 minutes: This option displays an open time slot if more than 6 minutes pass without an activity.

Taking action on Open Time slots

You can interact with Open Time slots in three main ways:

1. Merge with the previous activity

If you select this option, the stop time of the activity immediately before will extend to cover the duration of the Open Time slot. For instance, if you had an activity from 10:10am to 10:25am (15m) and a 10m Open Time, your previous activity would now run from 10:10am to 10:35am (25m).

2. Merge with the next activity

Choosing this option will extend the start time of the following activity to cover the Open Time slot. So, if you had a 10m Open Time followed by an activity from 10:10am to 10:25am (15m), the next activity will now run from 10:00am to 10:25am (25m).

3. Create a new activity

You can also create a new activity from the Open Time slot. When you select this, a modal will open, pre-populated with the start and stop times of the Open Time slot.
