Release Update: Open Time Actions & Delete Activities

Nick avatar
Shared by Nick β€’ March 06, 2024

We're excited to roll out two new features designed to fine-tune your timekeeping!

Maximize Your Time with Open Time Actions

Spot an open time slot and recall what you were doing during that time? Great, you now have full control with:

  • Activity Adjustment: Seamlessly extend adjacent activities to cover any untracked moments, ensuring every minute counts.
  • Create entries from open time: See an open time slot, but remember what you were doing? One click on "create entry" pre-fills an entry form with the gap's duration.

Streamline with Easy Activity Deletion

We get itβ€”sometimes, not all captured time needs to be billed. With Laurel, you can now effortlessly delete any unassigned activity. This action will also automatically reflect in your work groups.

Additional Updates

Alongside these two new feature updates, we have updated the application with the following:

  • Confirm Delete: When you select 2 or more entries, we now request a confirmation of the action as well as letting you delete the activities associated with the entries if desired.
  • Timer Stability: We have increased the stability of our in-line timers.
  • Work Code Reassignment Logic: When an entry is reassigned, we now clear the work coodes and re-apply default codes to ensure accuracy in the code range.
  • Timeline in History Updates: We have adjusted the height of the activity line items to show more in a single view as well as make it more obvious what the activity was e.g email, document etc.
  • Adding Work Groups to Existing Entries: Fixing an issue where work groups couldn't be added to existing entries.

Version #s: v1.188.0, 1.189.1, V1.189.3, 1.190.0& 1.190.1

Hi there,

We're excited to announce a significant update to Laurel: the addition of Work Groups πŸ™Œ

This new feature is designed to revolutionize how you manage and bill for your work.

With Work Groups, Laurel intelligently groups the hundreds of activities you work on all day and presents you with just a handful of work groups that should be billed together.

Watch this 1 minute tour of the new AI feature that is guaranteed to save you hours every month.

Viewing Activities Within Work Groups

Each work group is a collection of work you've done throughout the day. To see each work activity within a work group, simply expand the instances by clicking on the caret.

Adding Work Groups to Entries

Any work group can be converted into a new entry by clicking the Add button. You can also add multiple groupings to a single entry by continuing to click Add on other groups. Work groups can also be added to an existing entry by clicking into the entry to edit it, then hitting the Add button within the work group.

Adding work groups removes them from view, so you can focus on the remaining work groups!

Accepting Initiative Predictions

In addition to grouping work activities, Laurel also predicts the initiative or matter that a work group belongs to. You can click on the suggestion to accept the initiative prediction and create an entry quickly.

It's easy to reject suggestions as well by simply clicking the x button inside the suggestion chip.

Ungrouping Activities

It's easy to remove such an activity from any work group simply by hovering over the activity, then clicking the Ungroup button.

You can read more about this feature here.

Launch Laurel now to begin exploring Work Groups, and feel free to reach out with any feedback or questions! Your insights are vital in helping us continuously improve our product. πŸ™Œ
