Each month, we share a summary of what’s new in Laurel, highlighting the product updates and workflow improvements we shipped to support fast, accurate, and compliant timekeeping.
Below is a look at what we released in February 2026.
New feature: Drag-and-Drop
Timekeepers can now select one or more activities from the All tab and drag them directly onto their timesheet to create new entries or add time to existing ones—all in a single action. This feature turns a multi-click process into a single drag action, making time entry faster and easier than ever.

New feature: Bulk Entry Creation
Timekeepers can now create multiple time entries at once by selecting several activities from the Work Activity panel and converting them into entries in a single action. This feature streamlines the entry creation process for timekeepers who need to log time across multiple matters or projects, eliminating repetitive clicks and dramatically reducing the time spent on administrative timekeeping tasks.

New feature: Narrative Guidelines
A new admin interface in the Narratives tab allows administrators to view AI-inferred guidelines and add custom rules for Laurel to follow when generating narratives for timekeepers. This feature offers firms substantially more control over how narratives are automatically created, saving time on rewrites for both timekeepers and administrators.

New feature: Timekeeper Restrictions
Timekeeper Restrictions makes it possible for administrators to control who can view and bill to sensitive matters directly in Laurel. For firms using external tools like Intapp Walls, Laurel also now offers visibility into restrictions set in those tools. This provides firms with a comprehensive solution for maintaining ethical boundaries between timekeepers and their work—a critical capability for legal customers.

New feature: Parent-Level Compliance
Administrators can now set compliance rules once at the Parent client level and automatically cascade them to all “child” clients and matters. This eliminates hours of redundant work for firms managing large corporate families of clients, reducing manual administrative burden.
Note: This feature requires technical implementation. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you're interested in enabling it.

New feature: Temporary Initiatives Toggle
Administrators can now prevent timekeepers from creating temporary matters/projects with a simple toggle in Billing settings.
New feature: Narrative Character Limits
Administrators can now set maximum narrative lengths that Laurel enforces at the time of entry. This prevents entries from being rejected later due to practice management system restrictions.
Feature update: Dynamic Compliance Warnings
Compliance messages now automatically adjust based on rule type and enforcement level, providing clearer, more contextual guidance to timekeepers.
These improvements were built and launched based on feedback from our customers:
Calendar weekly totals: Timekeepers now see billable and non-billable time totals for each week directly in the Calendar view (totals reflect logged time, not released time). This makes it easier for timekeepers to track against weekly goals right where they're already reviewing their time.
Expanded color options for matters/projects: Additional colors are now available for timekeepers to select from when customizing their Timesheet experience. Timekeepers color-code their matters/projects to make them easier to find on a crowded timesheet—now they have more colors to choose from, making time preparation and management even faster.
